Trends: Summer 2010: IKAT

May 14, 2010

Ikat is a craft practised in Indonesia, India and South America that has become a hot trend this summer. It is a method of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibres.

Beginning with textiles translating into garments, the trend is now more refined and percolates down to fashion and home accessories.
