The Peanut Vendor

September 20, 2010

As an Indian growing up in Mumbai, peanut vendors are not hard to find. They are seen at almost every street corner, selling the anytime snack.

The paper cones in which they are served  are simply made by rolling  recycled magazine/ newpaper pages. The cones are attached using a rubber band at the rim of the basket.

So, while seeing pictures of an after-party at the New York fashion week, it just struck us, how a minor refinement and an added accessory transformed a modest snack packaging on the streets of India  to a glamorous fish-n-chips cone at a Fashion Week.

Just an observation of  the same object in different contexts
